Open class to Recoiling Next year.

    Just thinking out loud here,
After talking to different guys at various clubs this year, who enter the UKAHFT and use PcP’s in the open class, it seems there is quite a few talking about coming over to the Recoiling class.
This could be quite interesting I think, as there is only 31 in the recoiling leader board at present.
Is there anyone else who is thinking of giving it a go next year?

I would just point out to them Harv that there are no easy pickings there,
They won't get the same scores with a springer as they can with a pre-charged.

Shooting the same course twice doesn't count Harv.
I'll be doing Springer class next year, may even do the up-coming Gathering if I get my custom 97 in time.

    Thumbs up

When I first joined Lea Valley Air Gun Club - Hertford
Many years ago the majority of Guns was Break Action

Over the years the majority are now Pre-charged

But a couple of Years ago , the Club run a Springer Competition
The majority of Competition Shooters Went out and brought
    Springer Outfits

    Not my personal Choice

    But Membership enjoy Shooting them

We have run Several Springer Competitions

We have another @ the end of this month

I think some people might be put off, 'cos you can't shoot both classes.

The points were only taken for my first entry,I am well aware of this thanks Dave This was purely a personal thing to see if i could beat my score with my springer, as did some others.
Actually, If i remember correctly Dave Lilly done just as well with his springer the second time round, and was also talking about trying it next year..

Oh yeah! this was the one where I took 9 shots to knock down one target
    Dont spose that counts either..

Harv, my point was that you had already shot the course and thus had a good idea of aim points the second time round.

Main reason I shoot PCP at the UKAHFT events is that I perceive little competition/interest generally in the recoiling class. If that changes I might shoot springer at those events too - as it is I "spring" at the local / springer shoots (Basingstoke, LV, Meon, etc,) and "PCP" at UKAHFT (local, of course). Half the time I'm sure I'd score better with the TX than the PCP anyways...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

Harv hows it goin with the barrel, hope you have had some joy.
My springer is now topped with new scope just need to get to the range and set it up.Also im not sure if im alone here but when i tested it in the garden every time i change my hand at the front position my pellets went all over the place? is it a case of find one hold position and use that for every shot, or am i just going mad.
If your going up the range wed eve harv your advise would sure help.
    Darren
