    Anschutz 250 cocking lever problem

A mate has an Anschutz 250 air rifle with the following problem.

When you cock it the cocking lever goes all the way back, but when you move it forward it goes to about 85 degrees then sticks. We removed the action from the stock and ‘fiddled’ with the mechanism and we eventually got it to close.

So... would welcome ideas on how to fix it. Is something broken or is it a matter of adjustment?

FYI the oil filled shock absorber appears ok, it’s not leaking, and there is no sign that rear of the action is damaged.

    Thanks for links.

Just had a quick scan through, re the anti bear trap, I couldn't see how it eventually got fixed, is it just a matter of giving the mechanism a good clean then reoiling and adjusting the plate with the two screws?
