    I’m pretty sure I read or heard that with the reds being lighter than the greys can avoid the martins by going to the outer ,therefore thinner branches that won’t hold the martins weight .

    The trouble with introducing Pine Martins to eradicate grey squirrels is that they have a varied diet including birds, bird eggs, fledglings, voles, mice, beetles, frogs and other insects.
    So kiss goodbye to a lot of other wildlife in a wood if you introduce them !

    At least shooting grey squirrels is totally selective, introduce a predator and everything else will suffer.

    Has mankind learned nothing from his previous mistakes with introducing species to control perceived pests.
    I find 8.5 gns of JSB's finest does the job very nicely.

    They dont argue with a 15.9gns JSB from a 23ftlb BSA Hornet either
