    50M Indoor facilities

Can anyone tell me please if there are any clubs with 50M indoor .22lr facilities in the UK?

    Thanks

There are some, but few and far between. Are you looking for somewhere to become a member, or a pay by the hour type?

I believe there is a 100m tube range at North Coates, Lincs.

I looked years ago and there was very few. 1 or 2 turn up and shoot tunnel ranges, but typically 100m for fullbore, rather than .22lr and not cheap.

My club has a 50m indoor range, but doesn't accept turn up and shoot, nor are we taking members until 2020 as the probationers list is full for this years intake already Plus its quite a way from Wales

Best of luck with the search!

Wigan Target Sports Club, sorry no website listed.
Blackburn Rifle and Pistol Club http://www.blackburn-rpc.co.uk/indoor-rifle-range.html
    RO Nottingham R&PC

There are few others and some tube ranges. The problem is that they are not really very useful. You can do a great deal of training indoors at 25 yds with by using SCATT and live fire in conjunction with electronic targets. There is also some software around that allows you to simulate 50m at 25yds on some EST. Apart from a few open meetings there are no competitions you can shoot on them.

They’re nice to have, but can be difficult to support financially.

I have never been a member of the above club, but think that some other clubs also shoot on this range. Whether they shoot at distances less than 100m is another matter...
Too many guns, or not enough time?

    indoor ranges

More than I thought in the UK, the only one local to us is the Kynoch range at Mildenhall, that is a commercial 100 mt test range for Kynoch cleared for any thing (and I mean anything!) but they will rent use by the hour, a bit pricey, about £40 as I remember, we used it to get a wind free base load when we were working up our 6 mmBR 300 mt loads.

I've shot on several indoor 50 mt ranges abroad, and it certainly takes the wind factor (excuse!) out of the equation, the scores don't seem much different, but it is warm and dry!

If you want the ultimate look at the Muller complex at Ulm, www.mszu.de that has indoor 50 mt, 100 mt and 300 mt, ranges, and not my thing, but even an indoor clay range!!!

Stunning facility but a long way from Wales!
