Some folks can read range....or learn too.... and others cant.
If you are shooting at a metal plate I agree with you. If you are shooting at a pulse and you cant range find 10 out of 10 times then buying a LRF is sensible and not to be scoffed at.
If he wants an LRF THEN COOL. He is making the right choice for him not you
