I had the Tx and HW99 that were dropped off at the bash to do first, but next is the Airsporter I got from Topdog, then maybe I'll see what can be done.

The most exciting thing I picked up is still wrapped up, I've not even peeked!

I think Young Joffy said that he only managed to have time to cobble them together on the night before the Bash, Jon, and was going to try some different springs in the .22. But that .177 was super, super sweet and like a lazer-guided precision instrument, dropping pellet after pellet atop one another on the (30 yards?) zeroing plate despite the breeze. Dead, dead easy.
You're right Tony it should be running at 8-9 ftlbs had to make the 0.177 look good the old spring is having a few dead coils cut off and polished to get down to 11 ftlbs then it'll be cooking
them there springer's are soooooo addictive

    What's it like, Mick?

    Any plans for it?

By the way, any idea on standard spring dimensions on these? Now I have the Rekord for it (cheers Paul), this should be my next little project. Paul had mentioned using a cut-down '77 spring. But then I'm also thinking that this might open the door to using a TX spring and shortening accordingly?

Aha.....yippee! Another grown up who has fallen for the subtle charms of the sweet little HW30S!

Those sights are not standard or available from HW. Gary and others will be able to better advise likely sources and the model number. I think most people source them from that on-line auction site. Many threads on here in the past and IJ has often posted useful information on them.

Think I'll have to have me one too at some point.
I was really lucky getting the peep sight. After trying the one I.J. has fitted to his 30 I placed a wanted ad' on here and Les kindly offered me his.

Guessing that's an old Haenel then, Nick?

Regarding the Lightning, got to be a broken mainspring (not too uncommon) / breech seal / piston seal. I guess you'll have a good supply of HW breech seals there. Maybe stick one of those in first as it's such a quick and easy job and go from there?

My Aunt Glad always starts with the corners first if she doesn't have a box with a picture on it, Nick.

    Hope this helps ?

Thank you Ted, but there really is no need, it is always an honour and pleasure for Shirl and myself to host the Bashes for such a fantastic bunch of folks.

All the best, Mick and Shirl

And, I see on your "official Birthday thread" that you have a few days off.

A big thank you to Mick and Shirl for organising another great weekend, great to see people again after a long winter break. Seems that everyone got home safe and had plenty of stories to tell. Appears we missed out on Mel and Jamies keys in the pot escapade, by the sounds of it Mel was keener than most. Looking forward to the next one and I'll bring a shed full of the dreaded Cleary juice.
