Just finished having a quick go with the Supersport, Slavia and 30S.
Thought I'd just check the stock screws (all good) in readiness for the weekend and, of course, it would have been rude not to have a plink, er, I mean, zero checking sesh, in'it?
Supersport first up. All fine but wasn't quite grouping like the last time I shot it. Good chance it's me. And the objective bell was minging; I meant to clean it last time, but forgot!
Next up, the little Slavia 634 for the open sight targets. Blimey, it must be two years since this little thing saw the light of day and I'd forgotten just how nice she was. Smooth, accurate, dead easy cocking.....all good.
Then the little de-tuned 30S as mentioned above. Well, this little thing is just plain ridiculous. Bugger all cocking effort and the firing cycle, well, it feels like Brucieboy fitted a biro pen in there! Sight picture just doesn't move. One day I might just add a little more spring to quicken the cycle up a tad. You 30 fans will pee yourselves laughing when you try it!
And then I thought I'd go back to the BSA.....well, shot in isolation she really does shoot nicely. But after shooting the aforementioned 25mm lovelies, it feels an altogether snappier proposition showing its ratty murdering intent and snarling like a good 'un! I'd cleaned the scope lenses for the second sesh and the group sizes tumbled down once I got used to it again.
So, all good. And don't you be laughing TOO MUCH at the Supersport's aesthetics once you see it. It really does like the proverbial canine's breakfast.
Ooooh, Pauly, if you can, do bring along those 'Domes. A&M were closed today so I couldn't get any. I have about half a tin left anyway, which might be okay, and the Slavia loves 'em.
I'll have plenty of Hobbies.
