    Hft recommendations

    Hi all,
    Son wants to try hft
What would you recommend as a relatively cheap(just incase it's a fad) starter rifle,
    Thinking of a s200 (177)

That would be my recommendation - S200 are a fantastic little rifle.

I'm thinking of one for myself at the moment.

I hope your boy enjoys it 👍

    All of the above.

S200 is a good starting gun but a little breathless re shotcount. Buy 2nd hand and seek out a Huma or similar regged gun.
As ALWAYS...fit is king. Dont buy a gun if it doesnt fit.
Replace plastic bolt and trigger I would suggest is a good idea. If possible try the rifles trigger as whilst better now...they can be really quite crap.
Barrel is definitely a giant slayer potentially.
Equally important is a good scope ... again that suits your lads eye. A good ret is great. Look at a.Mamba lite perhaps. You want something like a 10 mag setting but good glass. A good scope and ret can put kills down..
Practice ALL positions including the opposite hand to what you do naturally
Dont rely on prone prone prone.....
When you train....I suggest start with 40mm kills but go smaller as soon as some regular skill appears. If you can practice on small kills zones at leisure...kills can look.huge in comps and less intimidating.
More info than you were asking but i train peeps and loved HFT and FT.
In a battle of wits I refuse to engage with an unarmed person.
To one shot one kill, you need to seek the S. Kill only comes from Skill

I would suggest seeking out your local air rifle club that puts on HFT shoots. Contact the club(s)-most have various rifles that they will let you hire as a starting point-also, HFT shooters are a friendly, helpful bunch and will usually offer you plenty of advice and let your son try the various "rigs" in use-that way you (he) can try for fit and feel and avoid costly mistakes-it is likely that one of the members will be "upgrading" and you may save a packet buying a secondhand set up.
    Be warned:
    HFT is addictive
Your wallet may well take a hammering

    Enjoy!

Even though s200’s are great rifles , i’d Go for the s400 as the trigger is better, larger shot count and better stocks

Can't believe the shit advice you are getting.

Buy him a Steyr, LG110. He will get bored and you get the gun WITHOUT grief from the wife. Strategy, people. Look at the bigger picture...
