Just been looking at the results. Looks like some stuff achieved really good prices, but some of the less rare items did go through at quite reasonable prices. I've seen some people selling things privately for higher prices. I imagine whoever the seller of the collection is will be feeling very happy with the overall result, and a lot of collectors have picked up items that will look good in their cabinets.

The collection belonged to the late Professor Mike Wright or at least the vast majority.

I guess it depends if it was bought online... I think it was bought at the auction, so a bargain buyers fee of 24%...

Surprized at the Abas Majors prices, more than some dealers ask. lst one at 650 with what looked like replacement grips. and the 2nd one going for 800 hammer prices. l sold one in better condition also with the plum cocking arm at Kempton in Sept for 525 l thought the cromed WR highest possible was a fair-good buy at 650 hammer. l though the early Webley Mk1 with all the engraving done by D.B in what looked like a repro canvass case was a good buy at 400 hammer. l would have thought the engraving would have cost a lot to do.

I quite fancied the 77 Lazaglide, but it went well beyond what I thought was reasonable, it must have been pushing £1000 with commission if bought on the Internet and then you have to factor in collection or delivery.

And a rather tatty break barrel version went for £5000ish.

    That's crazy money.

If I had a Whizzer, I would look to sell it now.

There is definitely a bubble where they are concerned.

    Whizzer

Agree with Rustybuzz, way over the odds. Did shoot that rifle many years ago. I wouldn't pay that much for it. On the plus side I won my old FWB back. Mach 1.5

The tatty break barrel went for 5.2k plus fees.

The silver anodised 60Mk2 which was nicest out of all 3 JWs in that sale IMHO went for 4k plus fees, still not bad considering it sold for 2k on here not that long ago!

    Auction

I bid just over 10k online on various bits and never won a thing and to be honest i am more than happy
i never mind paying a realistic price or even a bit over the odds. but these prices were ridiculouse
and im sure there will be some very disapointed people when they pick them up and try them.
But each to his own and you will pay what you want to pay.
I wonder how many will be up for sale very soon when they dont reach expectations
