Best way to repair patches of missed blueing

Got a old relum with some patches of bare metal on the barrel where the blueing is missing about an inch or so square apart from these patches the blueing is good with no rust

what would folks recommend to repair these patches I was thinking of localised cold blueing using some birchwood-casey gel I have spare.

Is this Ok or can anyone recommend an alternative bearing in mind it's a cheap gun and can't justify extensive work.

    Any help appreciated

I've found the G96 paste to be probably better than most of the cold blue stuff.
    Regards,

I can also vouch for G96 paste. I apply with kitchen roll and polish with kitchen roll.
