    Swapping HW100 barrel from .177 to .22

Hi guys. I have a .177 Hw100 carbine and am thinking I'd like it to be a .22. I see I can buy a barrel for around £100, but how much work would be involved in changing it? I would also need different magazines... How about the mechanism that cycles it? I wonder if it would create more work than it's worth? The gun does have a little sentimental value hence not wanting to just swap it.

I'd be grateful for some advice! Thanks.

personally i would just sell and replace with a .22 or swap if possible, looked into it myself last year and come to the conclusion that financially it wasn't a viable option but as you say it does have sentimental value to you and your not wanting to swap

Barrel , pellet probe a few o rings , will need power testing to make sure it has not gone over power , parts about £150 and whatever time it takes to get right , you will most likely need to remove the anti tamper .

So if you think it is above your skill level leave it as is

No you can’t swap it the .22 pellet probe will not fit into a .177 rear action.

Thanks all. By the sound of things I may be better off buying a .22. Oh well, looks like I'll just have to have two of them. I can live with that!
