viper connect and no illumination

i recently picked up a rifle with a very nice mtc viper connect ontop ( all second hand) and recently found that the illuminated reticle , i would actually say its the switch , doesn't work . is this a common fault at all , fixable or send it back to MTC? when you press in the rubber button to turn it on there is nothing there , im guessing it should click.

Mine makes no noise at all, have you checked battery and made sure the illumination is not on “0”

Thanks Pelletpinger , schoolboy error , changed a dud battery for another dud battery , well a new battery says yes. what a wally
