Personally, I.M.O. opinion they dont NEED to produce a new rifle.
Air Arms already produce two of the best springers (TX200 series and Pro Sport), one of the best selling P.C.P.s in the S400/410 series, one of the best budget P.C.P.s in the S200 and one of the top field target rifles in the EV2.
Why risk the financial outlay and loss of production of known successes to produce another (questionable) product?
Thats my opion anyway for what its worth.

Air Arms clearly have some successful products, but nothing much has changed for a while and as the saying goes - if you're not going forward you're going backwards. I'd love to see them launch their new break barrel.

    If it were recoiless
If it were priced below PCP levels (inc. all the associated junk)
If it were reasonably in weight (unlike an SR)
    If it were well balanced

IMHO It WOULD definately sell. A 7 LB, £275ish recoiless 12 Fp springer would be the perfect hunting tool for those who didn't want to, or couldn't justify, the investment in PCP kit.

Now I know recoiling springers can be shot just as accuratey (), but in the field it's really tricky. This solves that problem, and in a self contained, reasonably priced package...

    Just my thoughts......

    AA recoiless break barrel.
The BSA Spitfire hasn't exactly done very well.
To produce a recoiless springer at a reasonable price and weight would seem a bit difficult.
So both versions have been done before without a great deal of success why would AA want to try?

Spit has all the PCP hassle - why not spend £50 more and get an S200 ?
SR is too heavy for field use IMHO.

Agree it may be difficult, but it hasn't been done before at all - unless you count the ASI statical

Yes your right thinking about it. I was on the lines of Whiscombe, Air logic Genisis type guns, which are not break barrels.

If your spec could be met I can't see Venom liking it.

I may be being pedantic here but the early Whiscombes WERE break barrels.

Weren't they just break barrel loading, not barrel cocking? I know they are now breech loading, fixed barrel, but I think they all had the same double cocking underlever. Or is this wrong?

Good point Michael, I'll see if I can find out.

Last year the prototype was being shot by a guy at the club, it was very nice, lighter and better balanced than the SR but working on the same principle.

If I find anything out I'll post it here.

If you saw the gun you would want one, It is everything this type of gun should be but without the SR's weight. I have been pleading with them for two years to put it in production but they are too busy at present. If or more likely when the Pro-sport eventually is discontinued, i think the new gun will be launched.
