Is it low on air?!
Hi Folks I bought a rapid mfr a few months ago and all been until today, It's started making a strange popping noise on firing. I will be grateful for any thoughts on what might be occurring.
Thanks Pete.

Master Debater
Hi mate plenty of air, sounds like noise is coming from around block area not barrel end.

Here's a service guide that details some common faults.
It sounds like yours is the third one on the list.

It will be the pellet probe or the small o ring on the valve stem.
There is an M4 adjuster screw at the back of the bolt with a small locking screw access via bolt gate, for the probe
The get at the valve stem o ring, remove bottle, unscrew Reg, unscrew valve cap, remove return spring and pull out the valve stem with a pair of long nose pliers or a magnet on a stick.

Cheers Bb, it started making noise today when it dropped cold, after being back in house for a few hours and warmed up seems to be OK again. Will try it again tomorrow. Adjusted probe a bit anyway.

if it's not barrel and probe area but sounds like it's coming from block it could well be a badly fitting stem in the valve body.alowing air to vent back up the valve body and into block.could just be a tired stem oring agrevated by the cold.
