    Hi Dave,

Many many years ago I remember taking a MMC older ultra to Simon (Tweaky/Tench) who made the cocking action much lighter and smoother not sure what he did to it but I’m sure there is something that can be done to adjust it.

Not sure if Simon is still on the forum last time I spoke to him he had been fairly poorly but I can pm you is number if needed

I seem to recall seeing someone mention recently it can be the stock rubbing or fouling the MMC action and opening the slot can free it up

Try action out of the stock to see if any lighter ?

Yes it was me who had same problem, it will be the stock too tight on the Mmc. A thin washer inbetween the stock and action cured it. It's caused by over tightening the stock bolt, indenting the stock slightly. Doesn't happen on the tactical just the wood
