    FWB 127 trigger block repair

    No gunsmith as you see but patched two of these this week.
    Stock lug threads stripped.

    Drilled and tapped M10

    M10 stud to make a socket

    M8 x 1 socket thread locked and punched to secure 'cos don't have LH M10 tap

    Damaged end face from sharp spring ends

    I had the stock retaining bolt snap off on. My 127, I have never drilled any thing as hard as that bolt.

    Ha, ha, Les. This one was sheared in the lug too. As you say took a bit of patience but OK now.

    Lucky

    10mm thread has a min thread dia of 8.16 typically - you were very lucky to get away with this.

    yeah, i was thinking it's a bit tight...

    Although pleased I'm among the luckiest on the planet I did the first one M12
    Then thought try M10 'cos can always go up!

    I've helicoiled a TX block before. It actually feels much better to do up, with a definite stop, rather than the sponginess you get with ali...

    We used to use wurth timserts in the engine place I worked .you could fit then inside each other too if you wanted to use the correct size bolts.

    say you drilled the hole too big ,you could put one in the size you drilled then the smaller one inside that if you get my drift.

    We used that a few times when some one had drilled a broken bolt out and went off entre. e set it up in the drill press and drilled a bigger hole to fix the mis drilled original hole then put an insert in then the correct size insert inside that to take it back to the right size thread . mostly on manifold threads .

    Like this pic but imagine the bottom bit is another Timesert insert and the insert is going inside it.
