    .
Evening. Having had my time as an HFT shooter and as an FAC mini rifle comp shooter (thoroughly enjoyed both but after a few years the sheen comes off if you know what I mean), I am becoming increasingly interessted in exploring the shooting sport of air rifle Bench Rest. Could you recommend a link to a site where I could fully acquaint myself with the full sub 12ft.lb air rifle Bench Rest rules, please? Many thanks.

    With a quick edit:
Those are the rules that our club uses.

Other Bench Rest Associations may use different rules and regulations.

    rules

At the stock end of the gun you can either use a conventional sand filled back bag or you can shoot using a glove or the gun can be shouldered as long as it remains on and in contact with the front pedestal support. You cannot use a conjoined front and back rest or one that contains horizontal or vertical adjustment. The rear bag cannot be contained in any way. You are not allowed to fix /clamp any of your equipment to the bench.

lust to let you all know BENCHREST UK are now the governing bodies in the uk
all the rules are on there

Haha, governing body of what, your only the body for your own very small group.
There are umpteen benchrest groups in the UK and UK Benchrest has no say whatsoever in the running of these associations.
So if you are going to sell yourselves on forums at least get it right.John F.

Looking forward to the Portishead & Glevum comps, I will use a front rest and support the rear of the stock with a gloved hand in the spirit of the NSRA rules (but you can use a rear rest instead of the gloved hand if you prefer).

These comps are great fun and everybody, including Graham , are good guys to be around, I would recommend having a go.
