    BSA age

    Evening everyone.
    Is there anywhere I can find out the age of a BSA supersport by its serial number?

    Niel has got it right, but i found phoning BSA directly was the best bet. if you are near brumingham nip in the factory. i did and got a tour and shown the lathes and stamps that made my superstar.
    the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.

    I could be wrong though.

    Apparently they started growing them in Spain not long after due to the more favourable weather conditions.

    In later years the Supersport Custom was renamed the Lightning.

    I was told BSA did this as it didn't matter how hard you tried, the pellets never struck the same place twice.

    That might explain why my serial number on the lightning was coming up as a supersport!
