My thoughts too John - wonder if anyone has stripped one down? Guessing once all the plastic is removed it’s very naked and obvious. I did look at the SMK Milbro £100 jobbie but much cheaper built and too long. Advantage that it’s my preferred.22 but seems to be a bit recoiless.

I had a play with a Milbro last year and when compared to the Umarex, it becomes apparent the Milbro is the cheaper option. However, it does work and looks better with a suitable optic than the standard sights and imitation carrying handle it comes with. Trigger is not very good and agree it is very long.

This one?

Looked a bit shonky and clunky on the YT videos (in 'breaking' and returning barrel).
I'm guessing though that these are really the only two current break barrel springer mil style choices out there?

Thanks again Michael and to Max for highlighting this potential issue with the M4.
My screw was loose and it seems as though only a few threads engage, so a dab of loctite on the thread should keep the screw from undoing itself.
A very useful heads up.

John, not got any pics have you - be interested to see it partially stripped/naked?
So do you think the quotes I posted are non-founded as long as this is checked?
I'd like one but a .22 would be better, I wonder if it's possible...

Mine was loose!
It isnt now.
No signs of plastic cracking.
I recently got the m4, power wise it’s great, just accuracy with the open sights ,it’s shooting way high at 25yards, does everyone put some sort of sight on, red dot, acog style?
