If you get a good one they are very good rifles with little work, I've fettled a fair few but I've also seen some that have issues from the factory so if you are thinking of one check it out first, also the new ones are inferior to the older ones with the rekord trigger copy so I would buy a clean used model.

The earlier ones are Hw 95 clones. I have one that came tuned from Lyn Lewington. It's one of my favourites and I was able to fit a Hw carbined.177 barrel. The later ones had a non cloned trigger, which wasn't as good as the earlier models. I sold one (a hw95 clone) to Gavin at the last bash. I think he liked it (after a little scare when a screw came loose at the back of the trigger). The only caveat I would mention is the quality of the barrels - some good, some not so good. Otherwise I like them (I tried to buy another recently)

I've had the AGS version back in 2004, Great gun and worked well until I lent to a friend who bent the barrel and put it in the case wet... Red rust.
Bought my son the SMK 20 with the Record copy and again a great gun, worked really well. Like a lot of Chinese cheaper stuff it's bit of a lottery but my Chinese experience including the B40 I've had for a fair few years now I've been lucky. Like a lot of things nowadays the quality at what ever level has dropped compared to older.

I had one of the 95 clone ones. Gave it a mild tune and the shot cycle was nice, also cocked very smooth. The downside was it couldnt hit a barn door at ten paces and made a whopping 6 ft/lbs i dont reckon i would have another one.

I bought a custom one off of a member of the UKCAF and it came in a CS700 thumbhole stock and was tuned by Lyn Lewington, nice rifle to shoot but when compared to a HW95 it just lacks that smoothness, the 20 was a little bit graunchy on cocking but considering you can pick them up for a lot less than the 95 (and even the 95 needs a bit of TLC) they are good to tinker with but like already said the barrels let them down.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

The early one with the HW copy trigger is OK and can be tuned and shoot well , the later models trigger is very bad . The Remington Express is a good cheap rifle.
