    Manufacturing date for a Webley mk3

    I have a mk3, serial number A3533 with the letter "U" stamped above it on the .177 barrel.Any information would be gratefully received. Thanking you in advance.

    Also a BSA cadet in 177 serial number B28410

    Webley could be early 1950's, don't know what letter U is for,

    BSA could be 1946-49

    The A prefix was used from June 1966 to November 1969. It was then , bizarrely, reused from November 1969 until August 1972.

    PS. I believe a B prefix on a Cadet indicates an early 1946-47 one.

    Thank you gentlemen for your replies. According to abellringer in your link the letter "U" may refer to the builder's initial? I didn't realise the Cadet was quite that old, I was thinking early 1960's.

    A3533 manufacture date was week ending 10/10/1970 according to webley airgun book .

    I have a early mk 3 there number is 880
