Question HW77 - how can I tell the age of my rifle - Thank you Weihrauch and Hull Cartridge

    Morning,

I have just obtained an HW77 and just wondered how you can tell the age?

The serial number is 1042160. Does this correspond to anything ?

    Does anyone know?

    Cheers.

    Philip.

Hi, if you e-mail Weihrauch at info@weihrauch-sport.de, they'll get back to you with the details.
Don't worry if you don't get a quick reply, it usually takes them about a week.

    Talking age

That is great....I'll do that now.

About cutting in half and counting the rings - would that be the barrel or the stock......please be more specific as I wouldn't want to get it wrong and end up doing both.....I might ruin a good saw !!!!!!

I'd be interested to know whether they (Weihrauch) can tell you whether it has 25 or 26mm internals - you need to know this if you want to order venom kits, Venom told me they can't tell from the number..

If your HW77 has the 'Hull Cartridge' name stamped on it, ring them on 01482 342756 and they may be able to date it for you.

    emails sent

I have sent mails to both Weihrauch and Hull Cartridge and will see what they both come up with ???

With regard to the Venom kits I think I read it on here somewhere that if the serial number is pre 13001036 then the internals are 25mm if they are post this then they are 26mm. Something to do with the Americam market apparently !!!

Might be a good idea to do a search on here and check with those that know a lot more than me !!!!

    Cheers

    Philip.

    Here we are.

I got a mail back from Weihrauch and they said that the rifle was produced in 1987 and also a mail back from Hull Cartridge saying that they sold it on
    20th Jaunary 1988.

Can't be more specific than that - and what great service from these two companies !!!
