You would have thought that they would come up with a completely new rifle. I have seen better custom job HW100 bull-pup. The price is way to high too.
I quite liked the new Umarex Reign PCP bull-pup.
Well I handled and fired the full length bullpup at the show today 😁 Looks better when seeing it in the flesh but seemed very heavy at first.Shoulders well and balance seems ok but still felt heavy in the shoulder !To me anyhow ! But I am used to a wildcat .Cocking and indexing was faultless and the trigger was lovely and hit everything I aimed at so no problems there and oh so quiet it has to be the quietest pcp I’ve shot .Overall though not enough to make me want one but when they come out I am sure they will sell well .
I agree, however it doesn't mean every opinion is based on facts, experience or is even valid. The post I commented on had one valid opinion in it imho. The poster thought the gun is ugly. Fair enough.
However slating apple products has no relevance to the thread and deriding anyone who dared to buy an HW bull pup (and heaven forbid say they liked it) is not on.
I am still puzzling how something decried as ugly can also be style over substance? If it is ugly it cannot be considered stylish. Surely the substance is how it handles and shoots of which I believe the poster has no experience so is in no position to comment.
Anyway enough of this I am off to post about how rubbish such and such rifles are and anyone who owns one is a fool of huge proportions.........never seen one in the flesh or shot one mind. Still, I am entitled to an opinion so I might as well give one

Saw, but not shot, it today ... £1100 if I remember correctly. Sorry but I saw no reason to spend £3 on 10 shots just to experience pffft 10 times.
Cheers, Phil

Can't they make it more pleasing to the eyes, at least mine.....and what a price!
There are not many bull pups you can call pretty irrespective of make or model. Des one consider a Pulsar orna Gallahad to be pretty.....personal.opinion.
Now I like bullpups because of their design purpose and what they do and how they donit. Not on its looks.
They were not produced to be pretty...it designed to be compact and pointable and better balanced than the full length counterparts and the cost is squashing eveything down.
I really dont care what a gun looks like IF IT DOES what it is meant to do.
To slag one manufacturer off for ex0ending money to re engineer or produce a whole new gun and ALL the costs that this entails is a bit short sighted at best.
Bullpup is a niche product with more s0ecialist use in a small niche market place so the number of units sold is not heavily influenced by economies of scale
Weirauch.....they dont usually get accused of poor design or finish.... maybe some of the cheaper springers but as a whole its more a benchmark brand as opposed to a chaser 9r a copy cat co.
If you dont like it...cool. but i appreciate what a bullpup about and I dont give two hoots if it hit the ugly tree and then every branch on the way down.

How much would it cost them to develop an already existing rifle.that work has been done already.it is a lot of money for what it is.
Of course it is probably put together from scrap knocking around the factory, but on the other hand.....
Design, R&D, developing prototypes, field testing, making the tooling and setting up for production of........
Stocks
Trigger linkage to maintain the quality trigger action
Scope rail and it's supporting structure
Probably some other bits and bobs I have missed
If the stock making is outsourced then there is a slice of profit for the stock maker to add to the equation.
So how much on top of the normal HW100 RRP do you think that can be done for?
Rich.

shame on you Weihrauch, it was a long wait...years but then you come up with this Frankenstein.
You know what I think Germany is going downhill indeed!
One can’t buy German cars, now one can’t buy air rifles from you anymore
seen it today did think it was that good heavey and scope rail look out of place
I had a long look at the bullpupped 100 today. The action is a modified 100 but the rear end of the block is rolled to make a comfortable cheekpeice area. The original is 90 degree corner.
The linkage system is in the top rail. The top rail is metal as is the action. The cocking lever is much slicker and smoother than original 100 actions which were not shabby and includes a biathlon handle as a std fitting. It doesnt have the same degree of play as on the 100 I use.
The cocking handle is going to available in left or right handing as a factory made option (not retro) and the safety catch is now on both sides of the action not rhs only.
The stock is synth the rest is metal.
They have based this in the full length action which is what a bullpup is really about... std length barrel but it seems they are also going to bring out a carbined bullpup soon too.
Its heavy but better balanced than a sporter and as we know... a better balanced gun can feel lighter than a lighter badly balanced gun. It handles well and was rock solid on aim and during the cocking lever operation which is short and slick.
The primary benefit is the 100 action and mag system is still very difficult to beat and in operation is very reliable overall. Whether the new linkage system is introducing a future issue remains to be seen but Weirauch dont usually pump gear out and let the end user become their paying R& D department like a lot of other manufacturers do. You can perhaps buy with a little more confidence bearing in mind any manufacturer can have production isssues over and above their R&D ones.
Personally....I would swap out the steel cylinder for alloy....it would be easy to do and selling the steel to offset the cost makes this more cost effective for the huge benefit in weight reduction to be gained. On the std sporter it helps balance but on a bullpup this is less of an argument. Its really only about weight weight weight.
Overall...the concept of a bullpup works. They tend to be ugly ducklings but you dont buy a smart car because it has gorgeous looks do you. Its acquired because of what it does.
The 100 action and mag is truly tested and known. The system is still up there and if there is better I am not sure whos it is.
That said....the cost and the desire I would have to go to an alloy tube....I would wait for the 2nd hand market and ditch the horrid AT.
Also...I am looking at FAC and I dont think FAC is Weirauchs strong point.
I dont know all the pups out there ... a lot of them are reasonably new in what seems to be an expanding market place but in terms of concept...I prefer the FX Impact in FAC which it can produce high FPE and has multi calibre potential if your prepared to get to know the best settings for each.
Its a very good effort. The top piccy rail could be remachined for a FSB with a mod too.....I think that would be a very good silent platform though how quiet does it have to be to make you more efficient as a hunter.
The 100 on the rack in an adjustable lam stock was £940 iirc so the work required for the bullpup... well that seems to become more understandable but price is a personal thing.
How much is an Edgun Leishy which is single shot break action.....
Its sensible. It will do what it says. It is unlikely to be a R&D nightmare for the initial purchasers.
The trigger seemed very good and the cycling will no doubt be flawless.
You are more likely be buying a bullpup for use in the field than as a club plinker so the benefits become more of a personal balance between pounds and what it does.
