Beeman HW97k with shorter cocking arm?

Has anyone seen one before? I can't find anything similar. Could it be a custom job?

It's an HW97 MK1 the barrel is longer than on the K model.

Apparently they designed it like that for safety reasons, so just in case you didn't read the owners manual that's engraved on the side of the cylinder and the poor German build quality should fail (as if that's ever likely to happen) and the rifle should fire whilst the underlever is being returned to it's resting position, the shooters hand is nowhere near the muzzle.

That's what I remember reading on the Doemeisters 'From the shoulder' series in one of the mags at the time

You seem surprised Tone, like you've never seen one before?

I would have thought you would have known about this one.

Nice one, mrto. Looks like another for the list for me.

Nope, didn't know of this one, Pete.

Edit.....looking at the previous posts, I must have known about it, just forgotten in recent times with the ravages of time taking effect!

    As said it’s a Mk1 HW97 - they ran a 25mm piston too.
They come up for sale regularly on the usual online trading sites.
Put on heading 270, assume attack formation
