    Thanks guys.

I was thinking of writing one out (for quick evaluation) but is there a crib sheet/excel graph or whatver online with given calculations, ie left hand column reading say feet/metres in 10ft increments of 200 fps to say 800 fps and along the top given power for certain grains ie 5 thru 20 etc?

    This is my tuppence :

First off its really lightweight, but very neatly made - quite unbelievable for £18 delivered from China.
It consists of the electronics and display sitting above two sensors with a vee block and clamp to align your barrel with these sensors.
The top clamp can be removed and a larger 'U' clamp used for guns with moderators or foresights this keeps everything in line and removes the chance of 'accidents'...
Or you can leave off the clamps and just rest the barrel on the vee...

(Its worth noting there is also a second version with 2 rows of IR leds which has no clamp and you shoot through for about £25 if you prefer.)

The instructions are completely in Chinese with not even a picture in sight, but in reality its not a problem as it is simple enough to use its basic function of being a chrono...
Press button to turn on, wait a few secs while it cycles through a self test, when the two dashes come up on the screen its ready.
Shoot, read speed off, repeat, press button again to cycle back through shot results, long press to turn off - simples.
The speed reads in metric only - to one decimal place below 100m/s and to whole numbers above.
I believe it max's out at about 800m/s - but don't quote me on that.
There are some translated instructions about including it's energy calculation features - but I'm still trying to locate them...

But the important things are - is it accurate and reliable?
Accuracy - I also have a Chrony F1 and using a multi-pump Crosman which is ultra-consistant it certainly is...bang on the money from 270fps right up to 750fps.
Reliable - this is the winner every shot read, every time and not at all ambient light fussy. Now as whether its reliable long term? - its too early to tell...buts lets just remember that price £18...!

    Final verdict : Love it....
Ordered on your recommendation. No pressure
    Daystate Air Ranger FAC - Kral Bullpup & NP03 - CZ 452 .22lr - Lithgow 17hmr - Remington 783 .223 - Franchi 612vs 12G - Renato Gamba 12G O/U - Hatsan Escort 12G
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.....

Combro is cheap - compared to other similar products.

Combro is accurate - compared to other similar products.

    What more is required?

As discussed, many of us also have a Combro, but it is a faff to put on and off certain guns (especially when constantly tinkering), is pretty unworkable with some and I've shot mine twice trying to use it with guns it's not suited for.

    Hence wanting an alternative.

No-one is knocking the Combro... it was/is a genuine lower priced alternative to the traditional F1's, Skans, etc. and the after sales service Robin provides is also second to none.

But, and it's a big but...that pellet hole is very small and requires precise alignment - not so easy to align with non-round barrels or forends and they are no good for CO2 powered guns where the CO2 cloud makes them either inaccurate or useless.
I've had two of them in the past and they are good if you have a very limited set of needs.

This little unit however ticks all the boxes for a very low price.

Mine arrived on the weekend, and looking forward to giving it a try out. I find the ProChrono I have a bit of a faff and a bit tetchy with light. Have always used a Combro on the CO2 guns I have that it will fit and just put a bit of paper between muzzle and Combro if not using a moderator. If this one works better with CO2, I'll be a happy bunny At £18 these are a bargain
