Thank you Lea Valley - never been before, so really appreciate the weather you put on for us - very impressive, unlike my score today!

Great course Lea Valley lots of subtle movement on an apparently almost windless day meant no one smashed. it out of the park like many thought people would at the start.

Great number crunching as always Roger.

Not a complaint but I think a point/problem that could be avoided in the future was peg 30. People's interpretation of how it could be shot will certainly have differed yesterday. I think if you put a log in such a place people will shoot it sometimes in a way that disadvantages them because they interpret the rules differently. Thought it was a great target but I shot it the easy way am sure alot of others didn't. The log 8 yds out and the target placed lower on the tree to force people up the peg would have meant everyone shot it similarly.

I take it you mean you shot it off the end of the log and not touching the peg ?.... we were told if we didnt touch the peg it would incur a zero score ?

apparently on the ukahft website it says , and i quote Howard Kalisch from facebook .... Just found this on UKHFT site "The peg must be touched by some part of the body/rifle as the shot is taken." I say that pretty much covers it. I'll take a 🍩😭.

That's the whole debate, what is interpreted as the peg and where it ends.

    Peg/log log/peg

I shot off the deck round the end of the log but had my boot on the peg. I understand the log is touching the peg argument but one could argue by the same token the peg is touching this twig which touches this leaf which touches this clump of grass. Come to that, the peg is touching the ground so so long as I'm not levitating I'm good to shoot from anywhere!
Think this does need looking at and clarifying. Because I'm 6' and can still bend a bit I could avoid having to shoot up the peg gun in shoulder as the course setter intended.

It can be a bit confusing and not everyone knows the rules/format inside out, but if there is a peg you need to touch it, and if there isn't, as on supported stand/kneel shots, you don't.
EDIT: And I believe the pegs all had numbers painted on, so no mistaking it was a peg, rather than a stabilising post for the log

    Hello all,

Anyone who was not touching the peg (The round wooden post hammered into the ground) should get a doughnut.

The fact that the peg was touching a log does not make the log the peg.

the fact that the peg was touching the dirt does not make the dirt the peg.

The fact that the peg was touching a root of the tree, does not make the tree 10 feet away the peg.

The peg is a peg, this is a wooden stake that is hammered into the ground.

    From the UKAHFT rules

26 Wooden or plastic pegs of at least 1.5" round/square should be used. All pegs should be clearly visible, project at least 300mm (12”) above the ground & be firmly fixed in the ground. Pegs should not be used for the supported shots as the support is classed as the peg & should be numbered accordingly. The pegs for un-supported shots should be 4" high above the ground.

If it is a supported stand or kneling shot, there should not be a peg and just a number on the support.

    I hope this helps

Gary - UKAHFT Cheif marshal and just so you know, I am also not the peg.

    That clears things up

"Gary - UKAHFT Cheif marshal and just so you know, I am also not the peg."

hahahahahahahaha , but yes that clears that one up , and no ambiguity too or debate needed

Wonder how many people are going to admit they should get a zero score for that peg .

can points now be deducted in light of the fact

Rules are Rules , and like i have said on other threads no i don't like or agree with some of them but as i choose to shoot i agree to abide by them !
