    Digital Caliper @ Aldi

If anyone needs a digital caliper - the Aldi one is very good for the price - £7.99:

Ok, it isn't like the Japanese Mitotoyo ones which cost 10x more - but this one works well and is repeatable when you open/close it continually - unlike some of the eGay ones.

OK for general use (instead of a rule), I'll probably get another one at that price.

Unlucky? I've been happy with mine after trying a bunch of bay specials which did as you describe.

Maybe they got a new supplier. The one I got about a year ago works fine.
