Is this the probe you are looking for?
Too many guns, or not enough time?

Here is mine - but the Gat with the missing probe looks like it might also be missing a threaded insert compared to the complete one as the probe does not thread in if swapped over.

    Gat experts?

The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

If you get to only one then get yourself to the Hop Farm for War and Peace annually in July - very handy for us Sussex boys and people come from all over the world for it. A pretty special event.

Took these pics below years ago but not much has changed so if you have not been it will give you a flavour of what to see.

I've been to the War and Peace show three times in the last five years and it is indeed an amazing show. You almost need a couple of days there just to scratch the surface!!!!

The Gat didn't have a screwed insert as the breech probe screwed directly into the barrel. It looks to me as though the barrel has been drilled out or shortened by someone but I can't imagine why. I suspect you will need a new barrel to get it working.

If you can make it to Kempton, I am sure there will be people interested in it.

    Perhaps.....

Although the photo is not to clear, it looks as if the barrel is not screwed fully on to the breech plug. You did say it was tight, perhaps it is cross threaded. Try soaking with release agent, then if you can unscrew it you may be able to re thread the barrel. Oh, I think mine has a circlip on the barrel, just ahead of the breech plug, this needs to be removed before the barrel can go forward. It also has the longer plunger you pictured, it needs to push the pellet past the air holes in the barrel. David

Thanks chaps- click on the thumbnail and then on the main pic to enlarge - you can zoom in quite a bit.
