    Rifle recommendation for youngster

Hi our eldest went to a shooting competition last Sunday with his Cub pack, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Not surprisingly he wants a rifle I like the look of the Webley vmx junior as it is quite light compared to many other socalled light weight rifles. Could anyone please recommend anything else, he is a standard sized 8.5 year old and finds my pre ww2 BSA breakbarrel too heavy and uncomfortable.

    Cheers

    Chris

    I wonder could he handle a HW35?

    And if you're feeling flush:

A cheaper option might be one of the Diana / Original 20 series air rifles. I have a mod 27 that is a sweet shooting mid power rifle and I just took delivery of a mod 24d. Again, mid-powered and with a good trigger and auto re-settable safety, so good for a youngster. They tend to be a bit cheaper than the HW counterparts too.

Agreed. And their stocks fit junior hands far better. Particularly around the pistol grip.
