    Gamo Compact

Hi. Can anyone tell me if the Gamo compact would be a decent back yard plinker please ?. Not keen on these Co2 pistols, so want a nice single stroke pneumatic. Any other recommendations folks ?. P.S. I'm not the Sultan of Brunei, so cost will be a factor here.

I've only ever shot one once and would say (with relatively little first hand expertise) that they're excellent and accurate pistols and perform beyond plinking capability.

If you don't want to go CO2, have a good look at the Weihrauch HW40 and the Crosman 1377. Both proven and very accurate.

There's also a Chinese made Beeman version of the HW40. I think it's called the Beeman 2004 which punches well above its price point.

    What Tony said.

If you want a Gamo Compact, the older ones are better.

The HW40 copy is also sold as the Beeman P17.

The old Webley Nemesis SSP isn’t bad either.

Nor are the Gamo PR15, PR45, AF10. Cheap as chips, used.

If you can consider springers, the world is your oyster. Webley Mk1, Senior, Premier, Hurricane, Tempest; Diana 5, 6; BSA Scorpion; HW70, 45. Etc etc.
