    Air cyl re-blue service?

As title, 325mm long BSA air cyl has rust spots from previous owner and I want it pretty.

Any recommendations for somewhere for this to be done?

    Thanks.

Paul Chell is possibly one of the best reblueing people around .
Another option would be to have it cerakoted . Try Liquid Steel Designs at freckleton near Preston for that.

I would buy a new one possibly not a lot more money , and with rust not sure I would trust high pressure tubes tbh

Beat me to it, the cost of a reblue is probably going to be same ball-park as a new one.

    Thanks all.

For clarity, the rust is surface and not structural. Also the tube seems to be a unique length which matches the barrel shroud like an under/over shot gun so I want to keep the look.

So, reblue remains my best option at the moment.

    Further thoughts very welcome.

You’d think it would be a bit front heavy but the wadding in the shroud and the air in the cyl don’t weigh much!
If anything I think it might make it more wobbly in sidewinds but I only shoot for fun.
Huma reg, set at 10.5 fpe, lots of shots per fill, astonishing accuracy. Love it

Dunno. I thought the scorpion cyl was about 250mm, this is 340 all in.

I talked to John Bowkett today on another errand and while I had his attention I asked about this cylinder.

Going from my description and sizes he suspects it was off a Scorpion Export model.

I’m thinking it might be tough to get so I’m going to get some of that heat shrink wire wrap tubing in matt black and fit that. It’ll either work and look good or not.

    Pics to follow sometime...

Thanks for the kind words Martyn.

I ordered the heat shrink tubing today, should be here tomorrow. Less than a fiver for 38mm id tube (before heat).

    Here’s hoping it’s a good solution.
