Photos of Friends Webley Senior Air Pistol

A buddy of mine call by my workshop today to show me his Webley Senior.

He brought it in the early 60's, not new then, but good condition.

He admits over the years he has not used to very much. It may not show in the picture, the finish is excellent. Bluing good, grips good. All original paperwork with parts list.

Tomorrow we're going to check the fps and power.

This link should take you to the photos.

Hi Phil. That is a lovely looking pistol. I have a similar condition boxed .177 example. The curly triggered slant-grip Senior is my favourite Webley & Scott air pistol by a clear country mile. Thanks for sharing.

    webley

That is lovely, by my reckoning it was new in the very early 1960's. I have a similar one, that I bought from a retired Policeman.

Bit harsh, as several boxed ones in similar condition sold at the last Kempton I went to in .22 iro £250 (more £££ for .177), and have noted at least a half dozen boxed Seniors in both cals sell on Gun Star for the thick end of £400 since Christmas.

Hi Phil, I sold a similar one for £250. You should reduce the file size of your pics quite a bit.

Same, those walnut effect bakelite grips too

A buyer may want to see the other side of the pistol, as this often corrodes due to contact with the box over time.
    Good deals with these members

I should have taken a photo of the other side. But, as it looked the same both sides I didn't think to take a photo.

Chrono'd it today with 5.5 pellets. Average of 12 shots 175fps. Somewhat low, in fact you could see the base of the pellet in flight.

I did suggest to him to have a service as he's owned it for the best part of 60yrs. He's what I would call 'cautious' with money.

Unfortunately that is not a serial number but a batch number. There were no serial numbers after WW2. You have to date by characteristics, box and papers. As someone said earlier looks like early 1960’s?
