Calling all FT and HFT shooters! The British Air Rifle Championships 2019!

Sunday June 30th is the date, and Maldon & District Air Rifle Club (aka M.A.D.) is the venue for what will be the third British Air Rifle Championships (B.A.R.C.)

The format will be pretty much the same as in the 2 previous years, with the exception that this year there will be a full 40 shot Field Target course instead of the reduced 30 shot course of past events. The HFT course will be a 30 shot one, set to current UKAHFT rules. Both courses will again by set by Satan’s very own little helper, namely Mr Richard Woods, so do please bring you A game - and a box of Kleenex to wipe away your tears of despair and woe…..

This year we will not be taking payment of entry fees in advance – simply come along on the day and pay when you book in – though if you wish to pre-book and reserve yourself a place, just drop me a line/PM/etc.
1st-3rd place trophies will be presented to the 3 highest scoring shooters for both the HFT and Field Target, and an overall winner’s trophy (plus the title of British Air Rifle Champion 2019 and massive bragging rights!) will go to the competitor who amasses the highest combined percentage score from both courses.

As in previous years, there will also be a special trophy for the shooter with the highest combined percentage score using a springer or .22 rifle - and let’s be honest here, most springer and .22 shooters are indeed a little bit “special”!

Cost of entry is £12 for either the Field Target or HFT category, or £20 for both categories.

Booking in will be from 8.00am, with the mandatory safety brief at 9.45am, followed by the start of the competition at 10.00am

Just over a month to go and preparations are well under way.......

The (quite frankly stunningly beautiful) glass B.A.R.C. trophies have been made and are all ready, "Satan's Special Little Helper" (a.k.a. Dopper) has been busy dreaming up new ways to inflict his own particular brand of pain and sorrow on all those who reckon they can shoot well, and so all we need do now is put the order in for some good weather on the day - with a bit of breeze, of course

Don't forget that this year it is pay-on-the-day, but you can reserve you entry slot beforehand by dropping me a quick message

    Not long to go now!

We've taken delivery of a whole box-full of very beautiful glass trophies - take a look the CompAir Facebook page later today to catch a sneak preview of what you might be taking home on June 30th!

There are also rumours circulating that the Air Arms HFT Team have challenged the Air Arms FT Team to an informal "grudge match competition", with the top 3 scores from each of these two teams determining who walks away from Maldon with some huge bragging rights - watch this space!

We're really chuffed with the response from both the FT and HFT communities, with a goodly number of shooters from both disciplines having already reserved a slot at the BARC.

We do have a few more entry spaces available - just drop me a PM and we'll add you to the list for what is one of the very best and most enjoyable shoots you'll take part in this year!

£600 worth of Airgun Centre Gift Vouchers to be won at the B.A.R.C.!

An absolutely massive "THANK YOU" goes out to the good people at The Airgun Centre, who have been incredibly generous by donating no less £600 worth of gift vouchers for the post-shoot prize draw this coming Sunday!

Other sponsors of this year's British Air Rifle Championships include Optisan, Air Arms, the Southern Hunters Series, and Maldon & District Air Rifle Club, each one having also put some fabulous prizes in for the draw - meaning that there will be over £1,000 worth of goodies to be won!

STOP PRESS!! More raffle prizes just confirmed!

Pete Sparkes has very kindly added to the already very impressive list of prizes that all competitors to the B.A.R.C. have a chance to get their hands on:

    * A "Season Ticket" giving the lucky winner free entry to each and every round of the 2020 UKAHFT Series, and

    * A free entry to the 2020 WHFTA HFT World Championships

Now, with 2 absolutely first-rate courses (set by that well-known course-setting sadist, Mr Richard Woods, when he was feeling particularly evil and grumpy ) the only place to be on Sunday 30th June is at Maldon & District Air Rifle Club (M.A.D.)

Booking-in is from 8.00AM, with the mandatory safety brief at around 9.45AM, and the competition getting underway immediately after.

If you're wanting to shoot round with a specific friend/shooting buddy, our advice is to book in early rather than later.

Alternatively, you can pre-book by dropping me a PM
