    Finish

On looking closely the black enamel finish appears to be original Any thoughts ?

FWIW I think you would be better off keeping this one for yourself rather than trying to sell. What you will get for it will not match the enjoyment you will have shooting it.
No barrel not bent probably camera angle, original finish though not painted but has an enamel type finish is original

The original finish would have been blued, not painted or enamelled. The 'painted' finish didn't come in until the Junior Mk.11 was introduced.

    Thumbs up

I've a few Juniors and can only agree with Troubledshooter, The paint jobs came in until the 1970's

The first on the left is a mk2, Coincidentally there was one at the bootsale this morn missing it's badge for £70!!

I reckon if a Webbo pistol collector had the OP's pistol, They would get it stripped and reblued! (I would at any rate!!), Better than being painted

The finish on this gun is factory and it’s enamelled

Bit wary of calling a Junior finish wrong, Webley seem play about with the finish on this model more than most.
Is this a later one with earlier grips?

I would expect to see a blued finish on a Junior with extended grips as Troubledshooter has already pointed out or perhaps a plated finish if you were really lucky but sadly not an enamel one. A couple of additional things to check would be the rearsight, as I'd expect to see a fixed rearsight on one of these pistols and there should be a 4 after Birmingham on the address stamped on the left side of the air cylinder. Webley did use an enamel finish during the 1970s and these pistols are usually marked with an A behind the trigger area on the left side of the frame. These later pistols also have a date code under the grip: month followed by year, which may help.

    Kind regards,

    John

Don’t think you will find anything under the grips, still think this is a spray painted late 1940’s pistol
