I have seen photos of these unusual grips as they have an extended piece at the top rather than virtual the same width as the grip. No idea of its history as it was given to me

Here are a couple of photographs, courtesy of John MIlewski, of an enamelled Junior:

Could that be a transitional model or has it been enamelled afterwards?

I have a transitional Premier, It's steel but has this finish, It also has the milled line with the name badge in though!

I too have a transitional Premier with the Suncorite finish and inset name sticker, so J.M's Junior will also be a transitional model from the 70's, but without the inset name sticker as found on the later Mk.2 Junior.

They also have coarser cross hatching on the grip than the standard model.
