    Hw 100 meteor

Well, I did say I wanted a lighter HW 100. Fitted the Fenton lightweight cylinder (short, of course). Machined an old BSA Meteor barrel to fit, and cut it down to 300mm. Using aperture sight at the back to get rid of telescopic sight. After testing grouping etc will blue the barrel to finish off.

Nice, different and purposeful looking, Baz.

Will you be fitting a silencer to keep fingers away from the muzzle?

I am looking at machining the barrel thinner, but leaving larger diameter flanges at both ends so I can fit a barrel shroud. The shroud will be about 4 inches longer and capped so it will act as a moderator. It is quite loud at the moment and fps has dropped by 100 through the shortening, so will have to tune it back up.

No been to the range yet to check out performance. Would think it will not be many shots per fill. Will report back with target etc. Will be interesting to see how well the Meteor barrel performs in this setup. The rifle is so nice to handle now.
