I dont really care as long as manufacturers dont repeat themselves within a few years e.g. BSA Scorpion.

    And the Webley Nemesis! Annoying!

I think I prefer numbers or abbreviations, as they tend to be less cheesy and embarassing to say out loud.
    Good deals with these members

Hoorah! a sensible answer at last (not that it really matters as it's only a bit of fun).

I do have to admit there's been some right strange rifle names recently....Edgun Leshiy springs to mind

^^^^ This -- especially regarding the Co. Who bought the name Webley after the original Brum Co. went bust, as they seem to use old standard names of British Brum built air guns from the Halcyon days of Webley & Scott to re-badge an ever growing array of Eastern European and Turkish rubbish (eg: the post 2006 Webley Typhoon, Stingray, Longbow and Patriot to list but a few of their travesties: imo fence posts all ) ...

My 2 cents worth. I prefer names on air guns. My Black Star brings an instant mental picture whereas an HW45 sounds a bit vague.

Same with cars, a name, to me, is much more user friendly.

So you guys with your Q7's XJS's and 320's......
