Another question Haenel 28: Grip profile Haenel Air Pistol vs Haenel 28

Curious if the thinner grip profile on my Haenel Air Pistol is unique or is a diagnostic trait of these pistols? Assume these all had to be thinner to be made flush with the smaller tube flange? The feel is quite different and for me better. The larger flange would accommodate any thickness but all my 28’s are thick. Probably a simpler way to put it: does anyone have a thin grip 28 or was the thicker grip part of the 28 conversion?

The grip on my Haenel Air Pistol is not perceptibly (to the eye and to the handling) any narrower than my 28's, so the narrowness you have noticed on your gun may not be diagnostic. Measuring the overall thickness at the centre of the grip, my Haenel Air Pistol has a value of 28mm. My four 28's and two 28R's have corresponding values of 29, 30, 28, 30, 29.5 and 28mm. Of course, my gun could be the exception rather than the rule. We need a few more examples.

Curious as to your serial number? Wish I had a caliber but I do not.

Given your serial number is before mine I like you have to assume my grip being thinner is more unique to the gun.
