No one ever said that. What SV said was that he wasn't out to stop legitimate pest control. As explained above the thrust is presumed that the GL's were being abused and used for illegitimate pest control. The fact that it's caught up legitimate pest control shows the problem and why it might not have been indefensible.

I know which general licences have been revoked, I've posted about them on this forum and others.

So why do you keep on going on about Deer?

Still interested in you answers to the above on deer control, which isn't actually very different other than The Deer Act applies not general licences.

Deer has seasons. You can't off them in your back garden out of season against the license for nibbling your plants.

Do you shoot live quarry at all?

Only in rare circumstances when there is a need for me to do so. Otherwise no.

You do know it's entirely possible to shoot a lot, not shoot live quarry, no support illegitimate quarry despatch but support legitimate quarry despatch don't you?

Thank god I logged on tonight I’m picking up a second hand rifle tomorrow and had planned on shooting it on my permission on the way back as it’s due for a visit.

It’s sad when social media influencers affect people that actually do good by controlling pests.

There are cowboys out there who think that just by owning an air rifle that they can shoot what and where they want. Will this stop them no will it affect the normal every day man that does it to help the environment yes it will.

Good honest land management will go out of the window if this keeps happening chip chip chip each year.

As we all already no this "general licence" has been miss used by some "a very small" amount shooting in gardens BUT we are all tarred with the same brush these licences have been temporary with drawn Lets all hope they just get back close as the old as possible soon as possible maybes with some species took off??we no which ones that do need to be kept Farmers need us to control them and cartridge suppliers make money from us as do the other chain of businesses we use and need to carry out what we do I really cant see NE being allowed to put a out right ban on everything and as for suggesting that we all need to apply for a pest control licence "That could not happen" imagine how many forms paper work that would need I do hope im right its very frustration we are being punished for something that SEE YOU EN TEA you no his name has put into a letter sit tight and hope for the best lads I just hope we don't start loosing permissions if we don't get out shooting as we have been asked to do as our hands are tied The only peace of mind I can get at the minute is im and your not alone
