Sharp ace strip instructions - anyone know where I can find them?

Hi all,
I have picked up a sharp ace project rifle to play with. I suspect she needs a full strip, inspection and fettle/repair. Are there any good rebuild instructions out there?

Terry Robb did a booklet on the Ace & Innova if you can find a copy.

one tip is take care of the probe locking slide as they're virtually impossible to replace
we did have a link to a strip guide (not the robber one) in the files on our pumper grup on cheese book but the group was shut down in one of theire anti gun group purges and I think the link was lost
i'll look tonight to see if I can find it
strip wise they're fairly easy replacement part wise not so easy but a few have them if you can get them to part with them and one chap on evil bay sells sharp parts at 3x the price they're worth and often you can buy a full gun cheaper than his price for a few bits

I have the instructions that came with my Ace when I bought it new somewhere, I'll see if I can find it out tomorrow and copy it, I know there's an exploded diagram on it but I don't think there's any stripdown guide

This may help.


IIRC the joint between 24 and 25A is very hard to see. I thought it was a one piece, sealed, unit. Its obviously not.

The pump rod (21). Measure the distance carefully between the pump face (19) and the hole at 23 as this is adjustable (22). This will help you get the 'lock up' of the fore end right on re-assembly.

don't take it as gospel that the piston is the correct length
if rebuilding adjust it so it is the correct length then measure it as it's a good chance you'll have to adjust blow off setting a time or too

Thanks fellas. Unfortunately I think the pump rod length has been altered incorrectly previously as the pump arm doesn't hold up. I am sure there will be other issues on disassembly

Err on the side of caution and start with it knowingly too short and increase it in stages. I normally use an Allen key through the hole (13) until I get the lock up right then I replace the original pin.

just use the pin as it's a push fit but don't fit the roll pin
when setting length I depress trigger when closing pump lever so no air is in valve
when correct piston should contact valve with 3/4"-1/2" clearance on the pump arm and tube

I am working on the assumption that as the pump arm does not hold in the closed position the piston is set too short. Would you agree or could there be other reasons?
Also is there an "accepted" length to start off at before slowly lengthening it?
