    Interesting variation

For the collector of Webley Service Mk2's, who is looking for something a bit different

Well what a bizarre, yet compellingly interesting Webley ... Actually, not even sure if I like it, but I loved seeing it, so cheers for showing us my friend -- a fantastic feature.

I had to do a double take with the serial number, I thought I had 11354, turns out I've got 11364.... almost close enough lol

    I'm sure I've seen this gun before --- I think it was shown in a 1970s/early 1980s Airgunworld ?

As a fan of thumbhole stocks, sorry John, I might quite like that stock if it weren't for that horrible Tyrolean style cheekpiece, of which I am not a fan.
I wouldn't mind trying a stock like that, without the cheekpiece, on my PCP converted Service, but, without a bit of restyling there could be a problem accommodating the air tank.
I much prefer to see a standard Webley Mk.11 Service in it's original stock, but someone has taken the time and trouble to manufacture a stock to their own taste, so good on them. It will be interesting to see if it sells, and at what price.

I went to view the service, the stock was very averagely finished off, the action looked like it had been rubbed down in some places, the barrel muzzle was completely flat.
    Shouldered ok.

Always amazes me how someone will buy blind from auctions and not at Armsfairs

Or those who seem to have an aversion to arms fairs. Sadly, I think these collectors miss out as for me, the social aspect of fairs and learning from others is a huge benefit over auctions, particularly on-line ones. Always great to have a natter with like minded individuals too.

I know the issue you mean, but whilst the auction lot is similar, the rifle on the AGW cover was much better done and IIRC it was heavily engraved as well.
People who have been there focus on the fundamentals. People who sit at keyboards all day focus on the trivial and inane.
