There is not a great deal for air guns your side of the water, there are a few out by Leigh, but it's about an hour for you. There are also a couple down by Warrington/Chester, but I've not been to them as the ones closer to me have a decent reputation.

Wirral Airguns in Ellesmere Port are also very good and they have an indoor range as well.
