    Cheers

At our club, all break barrels are supposed to be opened when not shooting.
I considered that having a barrel mounted sling may not work very well on an open gun.
That's all really. I could be wrong as usual..

    Thumbs up

Just tried this with my 95, barrel band fitted, and it was fine, so I would say, stick a barrel band on it

Just an update in case somebody in the future has the same question.
The cheap chinese sling mounting kits you can get from Amazon do the job fine.
They come with two wood screw mounts and one m5 bolt mount - that fits the hw98 forward stock mount after 10mmm trimmed off.
I already had a custom sling plate on my hw100 and it is a perfect fit on the 98.

Job done. Thanks for all the responses.
