    John Knibbs replacement gas rams

Has anyone tried the bespoke gas rams John Knibbs offers on their website? I'm rebuilding a Gamo and it has been fitted with an aftermarket ram, which I believe is a bit too hot for UK use, so I can buy a 'one size fits all' Gamo ram or the bespoke offering from JK. I just wanted some opinion before parting with my cash.

I bought a couple of these but have only installed one so far in a .177 webley tracker. It works well and has been in the gun a few years. Only get about 9ftlb out of it in the tracker though. They look well made and basically identical on the outside to the old Theoben Rams.

I'd be sticking a spring in it, Mark.

Protek also have the rams on their site if you're intent on the non-boingy flavouring.

P.S.....If you're okay waiting a few days, I'll be bringing along a Vipermax with Welsh Willy Kit, courtesy of look no hands, to The Bash at the weekend for you to try.

    You won't want a ram.

Might hold you to that. BTW, where are the rams for sale on the Protek site?

New spring and guides against gas ram is pretty cost neutral, so considering a rammer as I have never owned one.

On the Protek site, click onto parts for "other makes" I seem to remember, Mark.

I just feel that spring power is more flexible and tuneable. And if you have a spring spare from many 25mm guns (and maybe others?), like a TX / 77, it's just a case of getting some guides made up matey.

Have you got it in bits yet?

P.S. If the original spring is okay that will do, too. You may need to shorten slightly if it's anything like mine, as it didn't have the original top hat.
