    UKAHFT National Recoil Championship 2019

    26th May at Nomads HFT

The forecast was overcast, with light occasional drizzle and a westerly wind and, for once, it was bang on, with Berrow Hill sheltering the course from the brunt of the wind, but creating all sorts of interesting vortices on the leeward side to make an already challenging course that bit more, erm, challenging.

Top score of the day, and the first winner of the National Recoil Championship, was 53 by Stew Searle, followed by Dan Gordon and Perry Broad tied on 52, with Dan taking second spot after a shoot-off, so congratulations to all three, who were, incidentally, shooting TX200s.

And so to the thanks. Thanks for to all who travelled here today, and made the day so very enjoyable with your wonderful company. Thanks to the course setters. to the club members who helped out getting the ground ready, and to Bill for the signing in. Thanks to Stu for providing the hot drinks, and to Mick for doing a great job, as usual, manning the barbeque, the proceeds of which were donated to Rex Bennet’s Cancervive charity.

Thanks especially to Air Arms for sponsoring the shoot, with goodie bags and a new TX200, which was won by Sam Hemmings.

It remains only to say same time, same place, next year.
