The T prefix BSA's were made between 1936 and 1939. So your friends would be 1936

The 'T' is probably a number or an 'L'. The 'T's were only in .22 cal (and approx 45in) and 39in long is a Light pattern.

In British slang an anorak is a person who has a very strong interest in niche subjects.

Forgot that the T prefix were all .22

The L prefix rifles were made between 1919 and 1936

So if your friends is a low serial number than it would place it around 1919.

Unless it is actually a T prefix trigger block attached to a .177 cylinder and barrel. In that case its a parts rifle more commonly known as a 'Bitsa'.
