    Diana 34

After some back and forth with my Diana 34 ( http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....nt-pin-problem ) it's now back together.

    Work done:
    - Muzzle recrowned.
    - Barrel a little bent, sorted.
    - New breech shims.
    - New detent pin (new pin soldered to fill the gap).
    - New mainspring and spring guide.
    - Trigger (T01) cleaned and relubed.
    - Stock stripped, stained and finished with alkanet oil (alkanna tinctoria and boiled linseed oil).

Action doesn't fit the stock with the new cylinder cap on, old one binned so I can't compare them to locate the problem, b****r.

Just ~10 shots fired with the new spring but even without the current dieseling this thing seems to be a lively one. Will put it though a couple of sessions, chronograph it and draw a conclusion.

    Vest: nice.

Jonny: it says “MADE IN WEST GERMANY” on it. I think that stamping continued for a bit after German reunification in 1990, but not too long. So 80s or early 90s?

Yes that is a nice restoration project with good results.
The 34 is to Diana what the HW80 is to Weirauch. I'm making no comparisons here on a spec or appearance m quality front. Simply saying that 34 was a good seller for Diana as the HW has been for Weirauch.
I've own and shoot both and are happy to take either out hunting.
December 1990 eh? A near 30 year old gun. I picked up a 38 many years ago with all good intentions to renovate it but found the compression tube badly scored and though it makes reasonable power I'll not put any funds into doing anything with it with that fundamental a defect
Yes the 34 is a tried and tested design. And the 34s I have is a particularly handy and compact hunting package. The ultra carbine I have even more so.

Cheers. Quite happy myself, new stock screws and and the cylinder end cap sorted and we're there.
