Seen the Custom Stock CS600 Tyrolean?

Custom Stock of Sheffield has a stock for sale on the 'bay' that isn't listed on their website, the CS600 with Tyrolean stock and Schnabel forend.

It looks gorgeous and reminds me of the custom Venom Weihrauchs of the 1980's, but costs around £100 more than the CS500, I guess because of additional handcrafting.

I don't know why it's not listed on the CS website? I'd love to put one on a HW95K, but with additional forend stippling and no white line spacer.

    I like that...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

My mate has just fitted one to an 80 that we’d tarted up for him. The select wood on his particular stock is absolutely beautiful.

    Cs600

Bought 1 a while ago before they had them on the bay .

Was told by Custom Stocks that they don't advertise them as they are meant to be used with open sights , however they may suit some people if used with a small diameter scope and low mounts .

Their reasoning for not putting these on their website is they don't want people to buy them and be disappointed when they don't fit them.

Mine wears a 32 mm scope on low mounts and is OK for me .

    Talking Custom Stock CS600

    Hi All

I’ve also just brought a Tyrolean CS600 stock from Custom Stock in Sheffield for a project that I’m working on at the moment and I have to say that it’s a fantastic stock. I’ve had one made with Select Grade Walnut, stippling, schnabel forend, rosewood cap and adjustable butt pad. It been made for a .177 Weihrauch HW99 that going to have the full V-Mach treatment.

It’s incredibly comfortable with a medium one piece sportsmatch mount and Simmons Scope and it shoulders perfectly.

Unfortunately I don’t know how to attach pictures to this thread (stupid I know). If you would like to see any pictures of my rifle please just drop me a PM and I will send you a couple of pictures.

These stocks suit the HW99 perfectly. I would buy another without doubt.

Craig.P - I think that you’ve seen it last time you came over.

    Kind regards

    David

Damn she’s pretty! Did you guys pay extra for higher grade walnut, or is that standard for the CS600?

That’s a higher grade so it was £40 more for a select piece mate.

He’s well pleased with it mate. I agree, if the Tyrolean fits you then I think they’re one of the most comfortable stocks available

Had a lefty CS600 made by CS for an 80 about twelve years ago. They are very attractive but as Jonny says, CS do inform you that they don’t suit everyone. Something to do with your “neck length” and position of your cheek on the cheek piece. Fortunately mine suits me fine but it would be a good idea to check this out before buying one I reckon.
If I had one minor criticism it’s that the scalloped check piece appears slightly smaller then the Weihrauch versions of old, they were gorgeous !
