    but will it work the same as lorry driving licences. if you already drove a lorry you never had to take the test.(apart from proving you could work the tacho.) so, if you have had airguns for years will you be exempt. will this licencing only be for newly purchased air guns?
    the only thing i can find wrong is the nut on the steering wheel.

    As I understand it there wasn't a grand dad clause in Scotland so if you were denied a licence you had to surrender your guns. Of course, we all know that a, (insert a number) Kg lorry in the wrong hands is far less lethal than a 12 foot pound air rifle

    Correct. No grandad rights. If you have SGC or FAC that was issued before the date the licensing came in you can hold them on it until you need to renew the SGC or FAC 'Then you have to apply for an AWL.

    If you did not have a current SGC or FAC then you had to apply for a AWL.

    If refused an AWL you could appeal. If you did not win the appeal you had to surrender , sell or give the airguns to a friend who had an AWL.

    There may be other clauses but a grandad clause was not one of them.

    a idiot will still do things wrong if theres a licence or not,air guns are easy to get hold of without a licence the same as hand guns are if you know the right people
