    Crosman Accupell

    Hi

Bought a tin (new shape) of 500 0.22 Accupells £7.99 and was amazed after tipping them out that only one was duff. They were gleaming bright and apart from the mandatory swarf bits I just couldn't understand why I only found one reject

What's going on? Do you think a gremlin at the factory put Premiers in by mistake or has QA made a quantum leap in the right direction. I hope this astonishing experience is frequently repeated

    cheers

One of the members at Ealing had a tin of .177 Accupell that was absultely dreadful. Loads of mis-shapes, swarf and pellets stuck together. They grouped as if his HW100 was a shotgun. I passed him some JSB 4.52 and they proved there was nothing wrong with the gun or user.

I must say I've found them to have only the odd duffer per tin. Maybe I've been lucky, but I do check the tins for dents before buying one. I suspect that a lot of the damage is done in transit.

When you say they are gleaming bright, did they have the usual graphite coating that gets all over your fingers, or have they changed the "lube"

They didn't have the usual graphite coating and no messy fingers. Regardless anyway I always thoroughly wash all pellets, sort, dry and lube - can't take chances

looks like I was ripped off on price although I could have got them cheaper but the very high cost of petrol would have negated any cost benefit As for counting them and possibly counting them out I might just do it just to bond with them

I recently bought 11 tins for £25 from someone who won them and didn't want them. My S310 loves 'em and i'm on the 3rd tin now and have only had a couple of duff ones so i think the QC has gone up

Anyone know if the prems are going the same way - better qc and lube?

If they didn't have the graphite lube, they probably were Prems.

Hi Gus. So the Prems don't have that revolting graphite lube anymore?

Hi, Were you really happy to be paying £7.99 and expecting to find many duff? Just had to ask cause I haven't had any problems with AccuPells (although if I payed £3.99, or less I would expect them to be rubbish), they are consistant at 30yds, seems as though as few manufacturers have realised its better to make good pellets than bad.

Pod... I thought Prems were dry, but I haven't used any for years.

"Prems" are dry. They're clean and smooth and really accurate, just so bloody expensive.
From what I could make out, Accupells are just prems but instead are coated in that gopping minging graphite lube.
Why the huge price difference? God only knows.

One of our members at Ealing (not Kes) had a tin of .177 Accupel that were really dreadful - bent pellets, merged pellets, swarf, you name it. They also grouped like a shotgun in his HW100. He tried some of my JSB 4.52s and proved it wasn't the gun or the user.
